MILK-TUMBLER
infinite reusability
The Milk Tumbler is an innovative milk bottle made from a whey-protein based mono-material and chemical recycling. The concept is based on the infinite reusability of this biological material. The system unlocks new sales and communication opportunities for untreated milk through a loop of integrated sales and material usage.
CUSTOMER LOYALTY
Customer loyalty and direct communication with the user through special return stations with 24/7 access to fresh milk in busy public places.
DISTRIBUTION
A nationwide introduction of the milk container takes place via a dense network of local bottle filling and recycling stations. Regional micro-dairies can be linked to existing farms (agriculture, food producers) and/or operated by municipalities. They ensure a CO2-neutral supply of fresh milk within a radius of around 50 km (including the last mile by cargo bike). Result: Market access for small dairy farmers as direct marketers.
MAXIMUM ECOLOGICAL PRODUCTDESIGN
The regional application and the closed material cycle offer the milk container ecological and economic advantages over conventional multi-layer cardboard packaging. The same applies to the comparison with the glass bottle. Because not only glass is used here. Lids, seals, labels, printing inks and adhesives require a variety of different materials and recycling channels. A variety that is eliminated by the milk cup due to the mono-material approach. All empty milk cup containers are already shredded at the return stations, which reduces the volume that has to be transported back to the production site many times over. Instead of being cleaned with water and chemicals, the bottles are reshaped from the recycled raw material before each new run in the distribution cycle.
