PIANI

The PIANI concept was born from the idea of designing a piece of furniture that can simply be put back in the forest without being considered garbage and causing damage. It had to be furniture made without using the usual panel materials such as MDF, chipboard or multiplex boards. These consist largely of adhesives and have little to do with natural wood. The PIANI's supporting structure is made of real wood and, as a 100% natural material, is recyclable per se. Thanks to the sophisticated plug-in system, the shelf does not need a single screw. Only the feet and the wall bracket contain Din standard metal parts. These are easy to remove and can be reused as components. One type of insert comes from industrial production and is a biofiber board bound with natural wood resins and can also be returned to the biological cycle. For another type of insert, a material made from recycled old textiles is used which is fully recyclable in the technical cycle. In addition to materials from industrial production, panels produced by local DIY initiatives and from waste materials can also be used as inserts. As inserts in furniture, the recycled waste becomes visible and is put to further use. Strictly speaking, this is only an interim storage facility, but as a recycling of waste that has already been produced, it is an important first step towards a genuine circular economy.
